Hi, I'm Chris (Aka Dabble Dabble) and I'm an artist living in the North-East of England. I've got a healthy obsession with science, tinkering, and engineering and I spend one day a week building a boat (a Farrier F32AX to be precise).
Mostly I just love making things, all sorts of things, but primarily I'm a participatory artist with a background in animation, and a personal practice in printmaking and ceramics. You can hire me for just about anything art and design related, but I have previous experience in a huge variety of fields including...
Animation and film preproduction (storyboarding & concept art), stop-motion animation, digital & traditional illustration, silkscreen and relief printmaking, leather working, wood working, metal working, fibreglass and resins (including vacuum bagging and casting), ceramics, fore edge illustration and gilding.
I manage participatory arts projects ranging from one day workshops to multi-month Arts Council England funded programmes.
Previous clients include The Centre for Life, Gateshead Council, Open Lab, Studio Moo, North East Autism Society, The Toffee Factory, Darlington Borough Council, Aberystwyth Arts Centre, The Customs House, North Tyneside Council, Creative Darlington, Undercover Animation, Bensham & Teams Arts, Helix Arts, Big Local Gateshead, Equal Arts, Gem Arts, Baltic Mill, and Lincoln City Council.
I run a monthly untutored life-drawing session in Newcastle city centre, so if you're interested in joining us for a relaxed, informal evening of drawing you can find our next scheduled meet-up on the events page of this site, or on this Facebook page.
